Question: transmission leaking

brought my 2011 liberty into jeep service department for an electrical issue that has been resolved.... now they are telling me that my transmission is leaking and say that it over due for a routine transmission inspection and maintainence ....doesnt sound right and why would the transmission be leaking....car has 30000 miles and never had an issue with anything....thanks

You are due for a transmission service every 30k miles for preventative maintenance. And having a tranny leak at that mileage is not uncommon--but if you doubt the leak, ask the shop to point it out to you while they have your vehicle on the lift.
