Question: Transmission "shudders" when shifting from first to second

Hi! Thanks again for all your help in the past. The transmission in my 2000 Chrysler Voyager was supposedly rebuilt. Now when it shifts from first to second it "shudders". Is this normal? If not, what needs to be done? I have already returned it with that problem. It was returned supposedly fixed, but it still shudders. This action does not usually become prominent until after the car has been driven for a while and warmed up.

Did the shop say what they tried? Here's a few suggestions: Check that the ATF used is the one recommended by the manufacturer. Check the computer for codes/clear codes. Drive it for at least a hundred miles to give the computer a chance to 'relearn' the new transmission.

Hi, Elizabeth! Thank you for your response. I had a suspicion that the ATF was not the right one. I had checked to see if my problem was being caused by low fluid and was surprised to see that the fluid was almost clear lacking the usual red tint. Does this sound right for the transmission in my van?

That transmission does use a different ATF than standard:
