Question: Truck dies while idling.

I have a 2002 Chevy Silverado. Recently, when it sits at idle the RPMs will fall down below 500 and then jump up to 2500. Eventually it bottoms out enough to kill the engine. Anybody have an idea on what it is?

Sounds like maybe a problem with the idle control system components or maybe a vacuum/air leak.

Start by checking the engine computer for any stored fault codes.
