Question: Truck will crank but will not go in gear

My toyota truck will crank and run fine but it will not go into 1st gear at all and it will go into the other gears fine but will not move. I have put truck in gear and then started it and it still will not go.

You have a broken axle drive shaft or transmission. I would say you have a transmission problem. Put it into gear and start it. See if the drive shaft spins. If it does not you need a transmission. If the drive shaft spins you have a broken a ring and pinion or axle shaft. You will have to take the rear diff apart at that time.
