Question: Turn the key and get power but the engine won't turn over/ start?
My 2006 Jeep Liberty 3.7L Automatic out of no where right after driving to a destination, parking and turning off the engine then attempting to turn it back on it wouldn't turn over at all like the battery was dead. Trying to self diagnose the problem I've done the following -
1. Took the starter to get tested - it passed
2. replaced the battery terminals (they were corroded)
3. Checked to make sure I had power to the fuse box for starter and ignition and have 12.50V
4. Wiggled the shifter hoping to reset the Neutral Saftey Switch.
5. checked volts to the starter which I only received 9.5V but would drop to 4 or 5V at times.
6. Tried another battery (new)
7. Tapped on the started
After all that it still will not start. When turning the key I get full power inside the vehicle, I can hear the full pump turn on and whatever else clicks when turning the key but that's all.
Anyone have any other ideas? Thanks!
