Question: Unsafe Electrical Issue
2000 Volvo S40 Electrical Issue: my car recently started to lose all power and stall while I'm running the A/C. It only happens when I run the A/C and never when I'm not running it. The car only stalls at low speeds or in park. If I let the car sit for 10 - 20 minutes, the power will come back - odometer, clock - and I can start the car with no problem. Could some bad wiring be tripping a circuit breaker that is killing the power to the car??
I have had my car in to the mechanic twice in the past 2 weeks and no one can figure out what is going on.
I noticed this issue happening when my car stereo (original, stock) started to make clicking sounds this past month from the tape player as if a tape is being inserted into the deck. The stereo makes this clicking sound even with the stereo power turned off AND when the car is turned off!!
I fear that I'm going to get stranded with my children somewhere due to this issue.
If anyone has had a similiar issue, or a mechanic can advise me on this it would be greatly appreciated...
Thank you!
