Question: Water Pump & Power Steering Blow at same time??

Hi there!

I am hoping you can help me with some information on my 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 pick up, 4.7 ltr engine.

I was driving home from town on a wintery day and all of a sudden the heat started blowing cold air, I slowed down to check it out and it started blowing hot so I sped up and it started blowing cold again, it did this all the way home I would speed up and it would blow cold air, I would slow down and it would blow hot...my main concern was just to make it home that day, so I did make it and then looked under the hood to see if I could see anything.

When I popped the hood, there was fluid everywhere!! All of the power steering fluid and all of the radiator fluids were drained (how I made it home is beyond me!!). I put cardboard under the truck engine and let the remainder of the fluids drain onto it, which was a lot since the fluids were spewing all over the motor. (I check other fluids as well, oil and transmission, they were fine).

A few days later, I filled up the power steering fluid and the radiator fluid. I started it up and it started no problem and purred like a kitten....but it seemed to me like the water pump was shot since all the radiator fluids were being sprayed around by the engine fan. I just turned it off as I did not want it running long at all. But a few days after that I checked again and once again all the radiator fluids and the power steering fluids had dripped out and emptied onto the ground.

Have you ever seen anything like this before where both the water pump and the power steering pump blow at the same time? I have tried and tried to determine exactly where the leak is coming from, but have had no luck. I can not see anything in particular that is leaking, only fluids everywhere just dripping down the engine and all over the ground. What would cause this to happen?

Any suggestions would be HUGELY appreciated!!!
