The price of a transmission replacement will vary widely depending on how you go about it. You can have your's rebuilt, buy one that was remanufactured, or get one from a junkyard (cheap but risky). Your best bet is to call around to local transmission shops and ask them for an estimate on a rebuild. Go with the shop with a fair price and a good warranty and reputation. Often your local auto parts stores can recommend someone that has a good track record.
