Question: what could be wrong with this car

The car has not been driven in 5 years. When i put a new battery in it and started it up, the rpm's didn't match how much i pushed on the gas. I would push the gas peddle down and the engine sputtered and the rpm's would go from 1000 to 3500 while the gas peddle was floored. I let the car just idle for about 15 minutes and then pushed on the gas again and it acted much better. The rpm's were close to appropriate for the amount of gas i was giving her but something is not right. Any ideas of what the problem could be...

If the car has been sitting for 5 years you need to tune it up. Put new gas in it then recheck. Also you need to change all the fluid.

Come on Guys, I really needed your professional help in a timely manner. After I didn't get a response in the time frame you gave me I looked on the internet and found that Lincoln cars are known for their MAF and MAF sensor problems which would explain my description of the problem i was having with my car almost word for word. I went to AutoZone and got myself a 7 dollar can of MAF sensor cleaner and followed the directions and within about 8 minutes, my 1993 Lincoln Mark VIII was running like new. I'm not trying to be rude but it seems as if my question wasn't taken very seriously. If this advice of putting in some fresh gas and changing the fluids is the best that you could come up with then it's time to find a new profession.

Car Brakes: How Do You Know When to Change Them?

By Zach Bowman For those who suffer a daily commute through heavy traffic, your vehicle's braking system can bring thousands of pounds of metal, plastic and empty Starbucks cups to a stop hundreds of times before you get to work. It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
