Question: What has caused My car to leak all of its oil?

The car cut off at a red light after driving it for an hour. I smelled oil burning so I pulled up the good & added a 1/2 quart of oil. I started the car back up & I heard knocking & clicking so I drove the car 800 feet into my jobs garage. I added 2 more quarts of oil & let the car sit for 4 hours. A mechanic came & looked at the car & said I might have got some bogus has earlier that day. So he put a bottle of SeaFoam in the gas tank. I came out 4 hours later & all of the oil that I added was on the ground. What could this be?

You'll need a shop to look at it. That is a severe oil leak and should be easily traceable. do not drive it with little or no oil as the engine can be damaged.

It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
