Question: what kind of oil?

my dealer wants to use full synthetic oil for my upcoming oil change. Would it be a safe alternative to use the more economical synthetic blend? I have the "original" iTouring 2.0 model (ie not SKY-ACTIV). Thanks.

It will effect the performance and longevity of the engine all other factors ignored.

Synthetic isn't much more expensive, especially if you do your own changes or bring your own oil.

If you change your oil every 5k, and spend $15 more on oil, you'll spend $300 more over 100k miles. It's not really worth it... maximize your engine's life and performance.
