Question: What Oil should I use

I checked the oil level on my 2006 BMW 525i this morning. The system reading said that the oil level is low, and that I need to add oil. The owners manual says that I should use synthetic 5W-30 oil. Does it matter which kind of oil - Pennzoil, Castrol, Mobil-One or ...?

Use the recommended grade and viscosity. Try not to mix different oils... add what ever it has in it already.

Are you sure you're not just do for a change?

Why is the oil low? Leaking? More than normal amount of oil consumption?
