Question: What shall I check for?

I am considering purchasing a 1989 Honda Civic 4 door, what should I check for to be sure I am getting a good vehicle. It has 224500 miles on it. How many miles can I expect to get from the vehicle providing I take proper care and maintaince of it? Do you know where I can find some one to cover it under a warantee within in reason co$t ?

How long can I expect the 1989 Honda Civic to run and for how many miles?

If the car was taken care of it could get 350k. You need to make sure the timing belt has been done. Also that there are no oil leaks. I don't know anyone that will give a warranty on a car with that many miles.
