Question: What to do with auto gearbox?

car rvereses fine but when i put it in drive it will not move until it warms up with lots of revs....and almost if it had a clutch the gearbox slips. When the car warms up its a little better but the gearbox is making a loud noises whilst driving and still on take of you need to rev quite hard and the car only slowly moves..
