Question: What transmissions fit my car?

I have a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder (Automatic, 4-cyl, 2.4l) It needs transmission work, so rather then rebuild it, I was looking into replacing it with a used transmission. I wanted to figure out what transmissions fit without modification. From my research, I've heard people say a Galant transmission would fit from the same year. I've also heard that a 2.0 GST tranny would also work. I am a graphic designer so my automobile knowledge is very limited. Thank you very much for any information you can give me. It is very much appreciated.
