Question: What would cause my cars rpm needle to go up to 2,000 while i'm in park?

When my car is in park and I turn it on, the rpm needle goes up to 2,000, stays there, and you can here it in the engine as if it is reving. When I'm driving, I don't feel much of a difference, but when I start to break, I feel a bit of jerking in my car as if it wants to accelerate. What could be wrong?

You could have a vacuum leak. Or the idle air control motor could be causing the problem. Pop the hood and look for any linse that mite be unplugged. If all that looks ok you will need to have a shop look at it.
