Question: What would cause my truck not to fire.

sometimes after switching off I go to start my truck up again and it will not start up. I can let it sit for a few hours after that and it starts right up

Sounds like the ignition module. That was very common on mid 90's Fords. Could also be the crank sensor. This is assuming all the tune up stuff is already done.

It could also be a simple as weak ignition system (plugs, wires, etc). Make sure this stuff is done first before you start replacing electronic parts.
