Question: What's wrong with my car!?!?

I have a 99 Ford Contour, I've had it for about a year, it had 130000 miles when I bought it, and about 145000 now. Since buying the car, I've replaced the rotors, ball joints, brakes, calipers, 2 control arms and possibly more but I cant think of it! I was also told to replace the strut mounts. The main problem with the vehicle is a kind of humming noise when driving and it feels a little wobbly but I think thats because of needing an allignment. Along with the humming, when I hit the brake there is a noise that kind of sounds like a ticking followed by grinding when coming to actual stop.

Did the clicking and grinding noise change before/after you had the front brake pads/calipers/rotors replaced?

If the car is out of alignment, that will definitely affect the tires, causing more money, so get that taken care of soon. Or at least an alignment inspection, to find out if that is a problem or not.

When do you hear the humming noise?

Is the person doing this work on your car a mechanic? If you've put that much money in and the original problem still exists, you may want to consider finding another mechanic.

Car Brakes: How Do You Know When to Change Them?

By Zach Bowman For those who suffer a daily commute through heavy traffic, your vehicle's braking system can bring thousands of pounds of metal, plastic and empty Starbucks cups to a stop hundreds of times before you get to work. It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
