Question: when given gas, takes forever to get up to speed,

sometimes i can lrt off pedal and can feel the car pick up, like it is taking the gas, then when u give it gas again itbogs down sometimes bucking, up hill is horrible, wont pull for nothing, if running 60, u will make it by the time u reach the top u are about at20. on a downhill grade ,it seems to pick up quicker. yesterday a big cloud of white smoke came out of exhaust acted like it was flooding, but never died, now oil light is on, goes out at high rpm and is ticking like lifters are loose. help.

The oil light is indicating low oil pressure. If the oil level is fine, then you need to have the oil pressure externally checked because you may have a failing oil pump or a worn engine.

The loss of power could be low fuel pressure, or low compression. I recommend starting with a compression test to see if your engine has a major problem. If the compression is OK, then test the fuel pressure and the oil pressure.
