Question: when my drivers side door is opened, it beeps till car is started

I just had a replacement steering column put on my car. Now whenever I open the door, car makes beeping noise, anti theft icon blinks on dash and it wont stop till I start car. With my old column it did not do this What can I do to not have this beeping?

You'll need a shop to look at it. It may be that the beeping is normal, and the old column just wasn't working correctly. (Why did you replace it?) Or it could be a compatibility issue that may require reprogramming. Or possibly a sticky key minder switch in the new column.
