Question: where is the fuel filter.

i can,t seem to locate the fuel filter,is it located on the frame or is it built into the fuelpump module.i,m getting lousy fuel milage,i changed one rear o2 and did a tune up.thermostat is at operating temp and there is no codes or check engine light.also my tailpipe is black with soot indicating a rich fuel mixture.vehicle has 210,00 km on it.
