Question: Where is the map sensor located and what does it do?

The check engine light occasionally comes on and it was diagnosed as the map sensor that was at fault. Is it something I can fix myself? Where is it located?

A MAP sensor error is not telling you to replace the part, but that there is a problem with the circuit. The MAP sensor could be the problem, but so could the wiring/vacuum hoses/connections/etc. Here's a website with some information on the sensors, you can find some background info on the MAP sensor here:
