Question: why, after changing fuel pump did gas mieage drop to 10 or 11 mpg?

changed fuel pump and mpg immediately went from 20 mpg to 10 or 11mpg. Why?? How is this fixed now? Would have returned to mechanic, but is far away and I need car for daily working. Can;t be without it for a week again.

You have to check the fuel pump pressure. Then I would check to make sure the check engine kight is not on. If the light is on you need to fix that first.
