Question: Why do the brakes bump?

I purchased car in November last year. It had been inspected, but the brakes seemed to bump more than I was used to in any car before. They still do and seem to even more. Are they safe?

You will need to have them inspected to make sure they are safe. There is to much riding on your brakes for me to say they are safe.

I took it into a Subaru service place. They replaced front brake pads and rotors and rear brake pads and resurfaced the rotors. Hope it was really needed. The brake no longer bump, but if this was a problem, it seems to me it should not have passed inspection.

It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
