Question: Why does gas spill out, when my tank is no where near full and I only putting in 4-5 gallons?

This just recently started happening. It has happened several times at a couple of different stations. I adjust the nozzle each time and squeeze the lever slowly. This seems to help. My tank has not be full when this happens. It is usually at half or below half a tank and after I have only driven less than 10-15 mles.
