Question: Why does my ABS light come on?

The ABS light comes on and the brakes are being controlled by ABS. If I turn off the vehicle and start again, all is well. This happens frequently.

Maybe an intermittent issue with one of the sensors... check them. Each wheel has an ABS (wheel speed) sensor. It's a magnetic type device so make sure there are no metal particles or any dirt on them. Check the connectors and wires for the also.


Otherwise there might be an issue with the ABS pump or the computer system. The dealer should have a scan tool that can read the error code from the ABS warning indicator.
