Question: Why does my car sputter at red lights? (when it is idling)?

My check engine light came on and every time I am at a red light,my car sputters a lot. this happened before about a month ago, but the light went out and the sputtering stopped. Now the sputtering is much worse and the light is on again

You need to get the code out of the computer before you do anything. The code will tell you what system is having the problem. Let me know what the code is and I can help you more then.
