Question: Why doesn't my car always move when I select a gear?

Sometimes, but not always, when I first turn my car on and select a gear, when I hit the gas it doesn't move. Fuse 6 Displays as failed (because of a short), Im not sure if this is connected. I did bring it to a transmission place but of course- they said it needs to be replaced. However, if the problem wasn't electrical, wouldn't it happen more frequently?

If the fluid is full and it is slipping or not shifting at all the transmission probably has an internal fault. If the clutch packs are just starting to fail the problem can be intermittent.
