Question: Why is my transmission slipping.

94 honda civic ex 2 dr coupe automatic trans
155,xxx miles

Trans was serviced with honda dw-1 recently

When in drive (d4 on shifter), pedal to the floor, first gear will get to 3500 and the RPMs will wind up (slip), let off gas pedal shift, and go! Rest of the gears are fine.

If I place the shifter selector in 1, pedal to the floor, cannot replicate problem, click to 2nd, D3, D4 runs fine.

Sounds like a problem with the transition from first to second, this happens differently when you shift manually.

Unfortunately this is probably an issue that will require the transmission to be rebuilt or replaced.
