Question: why is there no power to my fuel pump fuse when the key is on

I have so mechanical/electrical experience. ive tested the fuel pump and the fuel pump relay. I was driving and began to smell a burning plastic smell-no smoke though. vehicle then died and wouldn't start. not getting fuel. detrmined thst when key is on fuel pump fuse does not get power. Could be bad igintion. But with the burning smeel I would check you wiring. Remove the fuse box. Check the wiring on the back. IU think your fuse box wires are bad.
