Question: why will my car turn over but not start?

One day last week my wifes car quit running while she was driving. A few minutes later it started again. The next day it would not start so I checked and found the fuse for the fuel pump was bad. changed it and car was fine until today. seems to be same type of issue but all fuses are good, and I pulled the ignition module and had tested. it tested fine. can you check the coil packs or should I be looking elsewhere? seems to be getting fuel also.

May be the Crank Position Sensor is not working well. It sends out the RPM signal to the PCM. If it is bad, there is no RPM signal, and the PCM will not command the injectors to fire. Easiest way to see if it works is to hook up a scantool and crank the engine. Monitor the datastream for RPM. If you see RPM then the sensor is working, if it reads zero RPM, then there is a problem with the Crank Position Sensor circuit.

It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
