Question: Why won't my car start?

I have a 1994 Toyota Camry. The battery is almost three years old, but is a really good quality one. Today it would not start. The lights, clock, etc. turned on, but no engine sounds or clicking. We tried to jump it and nothing happened. Do you think it might be the starter or the battery? Do you recommend trying anything before having it towed to shop? Thanks.

It's impossible to tell where exactly in the starting circuit the problem is without testing it. Here's an article on the steps to take to do that:

And if the problem ends up being the battery, make sure you have the charging system tested to see if that caused the battery to fail.
