Question: Why wont my key turn in the ignition?

My key will not turn left or right in the igntion. This has happened twice and both times i put oil in my car and it started. Tried that solution last night and it didnt work. my battery is fine because all of my lights work.

Are you stepping on the brake pedal when you try to turn it? You shift interlock system may be having an issue. And make sure the shifter is fully seated in the park position.
