Question: Will needing a valve body rebuild cause your car to drive less than 30 mph?

I have a 1999 dodge ram 1500 5.2. Last year, I replaced the governor sensor and solenoid. My truck is pulling the same code it did then which says that I need to replace those same parts again. I was told that I might need to replace the valve body. Do you know how much the average cost is to have the work done on this vehicle?

You can try the 'repair cost calculator' on this site, but the best way to get an estimate for that is to call local shops. The price will vary depending on if a replacement is used, or if the shop will rebuild the valve body themselves.

And yes, if there is a problem with the valve body it could keep the transmission from shifting up, limiting your speed.
