Question: Wipers not working

Shop replace the wiper motor 2 years ago because they weren't working. Now after work to replace EGR valve they don't work again. They tell me I have to replace the motor again. Is there anything else that could be causing the problem. Doesn't seem that I should have to pay another $200 to replace the motor this soon. I've never had to replace it once on any other vehicle I've owned.

The wiper motor probably has a circuit board inside it and that is most likely the issue. It is fairly common on GMs to have it go out. Two motors in two years is unusual. It could mean there is an issue with the electrical circuit that is causing the motors to fail.

It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
